I couldn't get in @prodigymobbdeep homegoing services. The good old MTA been messed up all morning, so I arrived 15mins late. The security wouldn't let me and P's close friend Godfather Pt. 3 in. Instead of fighting in, I crossed the street and waited on a sign. It came in 5mins by way of Twin Gambino. P's other right hand man was on the corner taking a breather from the soul stirring task of speaking some heavy hearted words on P. Tear tracks on his face, we hugged and he asked for a cig. No smoke Day is me. Told him my plight and he walked me right in and tapped the sign in book for me to write in. In, yet not in the service area, I had to sit in the lobby and hear Money No, Ty Nitty and the homie Littles all give words of love and friendship to the mourners. It felt strong w/o seeing. Raekwon and crew came through and 10mins later @brotherhas was my shield to get in the service. Last time I was in that room was for Mobb Deep's former manager Chris Lighty's services. Standing by the ulter I could see Ice-T up against the wall, Alchemist in dark shades, Havoc in the front row and P's family across from Hav. With so many people giving words of remembrance, I was reminded of my times with P. My 1st feature w/him and that 1st pic on this post from it in 1998. How he came to my bday party in the 2000's and drank with my Moms. The many office visits to promote his creations and the texts about fatherhood and wanting the best for his children. All of that and his incredible business savvy was mentioned. In fitting fashion, 50 Cent showed up just before the last prayer and said, "I signed M.O.P, Mobb Deep and Ma$e cus I was fans of theirs." He paused, let out a tear and proceeded to explain Hav's and P's importance to the culture, even adding "Shit, I didnt expect Min. Farrakhan to be here." Everyone laughs, he turns to P's casket, "Pretty big deal P." The love in the room squashed old beefs and rekindled long ago relationships. That second pic w/the signatures is from the LA toast we had for P after the BET Awards. The next is what greeted you at the service and last is the cover of the program. Love to P's life and his family. PS: Godfather got in & sat next to Hav
