Soulja Boy Cops a Plea in Felony Gun Case, Avoids Jail Time – blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Looks like #SouljaBoy dodged a major bullet in his felony gun case, stemming from a December arrest when officials found firearms in his home. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In January, the rapper pled not guilty to two felonies, including possession of an assault weapon and possession of a firearm as a felon. Since then, Soulja has cut a deal with the District Attorney, pleading no contest, which will allow him to remain a free man with no jail time. Initially, Soulja was facing up to 4 years behind bars if convicted. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to TMZ, the rapper will serve 5 years of probation, including 240 days of community labor under the plea deal. In addition, he is not allowed to possess any deadly weapons, not even a toy gun. He will be able to travel for work, however, all travel arrangements must be cleared with his probation officer, beforehand.
